heard paul ryan say that romney will offer the country a clear choice of two different economic futures. is that what romney needs to do wednesday? is that enough? >> well, i think it would be good to just win the debate. that's my advice to governor romney and it's time to begin panicking a little bit. >> time to begin panicking? but don't worry, governor romney has a solution. zingers. the "new york times" reports that mr. romney's team has concluded that debates are about creating moments and has equipped him with a series of zingers that he has memorized and has been practicing since august. zingers? mr. romney doesn't need zingers. he needs new ideas. he needs a new campaign. truth be told, he needs a new candidate. after all, the guy he's been debating all along has been himself on health care. >> i'm not getting rid of all of health care reform. of course, there are a number of things that i like in health care reform. >> well, of course. i'm going to repeal obama care. i've said that on the campaign trail. i think every single day obama care must be repealed in its entirety. >>

, it's the same $700 billion that he voted for the ryan plan a couple times. closes the donut hole and it stands solvency of medicare for eight years. what i didn't hear was his plan. his plan is to privatize medicare. he wants to give seniors a voucher and once you spend your voucher you're on your own. if the premiums go up, you can't afford it, you're on your own. how do we fix it? there's a couple things we got to do. one we need to do some aggressive means testing. i know political season and i'm not suppose to say we will do anything like that. i believe in it. i don't think we can afford to buy donald trump's prescription drug. we can means test some of the medicare program and enact some of the savings program that are working. st. johns hospital in springfield, took their medicare population and with quality control and customer satisfaction, they were able to reduce $17 million in medicare payment that's were owed. as a result, they got a bonus of $4 million. that's what we need to do in a capitalistic system. spending less money rather than incentivizing more treatment.

the trail solo since paul ryan will be in colorado, but the two did campaign together yesterday for the first time in almost a month. romney and ryan walked out to the song "the boys are back in town." that's cute. and then they tried to lead a chant, but that didn't go to well, since no one else chimed in. romney is down eight points against obama in ohio in the latest "washington post" poll. in that is bad news because of the fact that no republican candidate has ever taken the white house without care rig the state. but team romney still thinks they are within the margin of error. they are also hoping that ryan can save the ticket. as for president obama, he is dolling out plenty of money in ohio. this is something we see every four years as presidential candidates pay particular at attention to certain swing states. in this case it's president obama with ohio. ohio took home four time as much energy as any other state from the clen energy tax credit and it has the largest loan in the history of the u.s. small business administration. we are back wit

in trouble in ohio he's really in trouble in florida. he cannot lose both those states. and paul ryan brought nothing to the ticket except fear. we have a situation where white seniors are afraid of medicare, their message that we're going to protect it did not get through, seniors saw through that. and so i don't -- we can obsess about the smaller states and it's really tight in nevada but in the end ohio and florida if he can't win those he can't win. >> let's talk about fear for a second because -- i'll bring you back in, jeff. there was a great screen shot still from the newest romney ad that says literally emblazoned across a person's face your job is in danger. but the question jeff, does that message compute to people that things are bad and thus you're going to vote for the other guy at this point? >> it's really a question of which message is really resonating and in ohio and a lot of these states. in ohio particularly the obama team has pushed the auto rescue, there are a lot of jobs in ohio that were saved by that, and they see that as one of the reasons he's doing so well. the rom
